Non-Corrosive Hi-Strength Dowel Bar System
FiberDowel will never corrode and is just as strong if not stronger that its steel alternative. In construction of concrete slabs, expansion and contraction joints are purposely positioned in the slab where cracks in, or movement of, the slab will occur. Dowel bars restrain vertical movement between adjacent slabs, while permitting the slab to move horizontally. Steel bars are typically used with coating applied when environmental or project conditions require corrosion prevention. Coating only forestalls corrosion while FiberDowel eliminates it.

Dowel bars restrain vertical movement between adjacent slabs, while permitting the slab to move horizontally. Steel bars are typically used with coating applied when environmental or project conditions require corrosion prevention. Coating only forestalls corrosion while FiberDowel eliminates it. The material properties make it an electrical and thermal insulator. Fiberglass is also electromagnetically transparent, a valuable attribute in some applications.
FiberDowel is furnished either as individual dowel units or with baskets. Individual units are compatible with insertion type paving machines. Plastic baskets are shipped separately, “knocked down” to minimize in transit damage and freight cost. The baskets and dowels are easily assembled at the job site in the same manner as steel dowels.

RJD Fiberglass Coil Rod will never rust, eliminating the need for break-back, plugging, and patching. RJD Fiberglass Coil Rod Systems are offered in grey color, and in 1/2” (15K Ultimate), 3/4” (24K Ultimate) and 1” (34K Ultimate) diameters.
